Donna Makes her Elphaba debut this afternoon on Broadway!

An unnamed source at the Gershwin has informed me that Donna Vivino will be playing the role of Elphaba at the 2pm performance of Wicked today, marking Donna's first Elphaba performance at the Gershwin! Break Legs Donna!

*RE- LAUNCH* This blog was originally started in 2009, but I was not happy with it, as I often forgot to update. However, I have more time to do so now, and will be doing it much more often!

Hi there! This blog is dedicated to Donna Vivino, WICKED the Musical's current Standby for Elphaba on Broadway. Donna played Elphaba on the show's National Tour for two years, with an additional year as the standby. She has appeared on Broadway in Wicked, Saturday Night Fever, Hairspray, and Les Miserables. She is one of the funniest, kindest, most down to earth people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and this blog is simply a tribute to her :)

I had the wonderful Expirience of Metting Donna Vivino when she was the Standby for Elphaba in 2008 for the also Amazing Carmen Cusack. It was a LONG story, but to shorten it- I had planned to meet Donna when I saw "Wicked" in Cleveland, but a situation came up, and we were not able to meet. We would be sending each other emails and things, and then I got TIx to WICKED in Buffalo-- and I told her, and we arranged to meet. Well, I went to the Stage Door before the show, and waited, met the whole cast, except for Donna, beccause she was the Standby at the time, and I had to get into the Theatre- so I asked Ryan Rose to Give Donna a message for me, and tell Donna I was there... Well after the show, My friend and I are walking to the Stage Door, and I see someone peeking out from the Alley where the Door was, and then duck back in, and I said to my friend "I think that's her!" so i got there, and She was Playing with Cliffton and Deedee Magno Hall's child, Kaeden (who is AWESOME! XD ) I said "Hola!" and she turned around, and IT WAS DONNA :) I was o Happy I got to meet her at last! She is such an inspiration. So we hung out at the Dorr for about 15 minutes and then she had to go... But I got 3 pictures with her and 2 hugs, and 2 signatures :)

I recently had the chance to meet her again! I met her at the Gershwin Stage Door after the August 13th evening performance of Wicked, and she came out and talked to me for a while and signed my stuff, and took a picture with me :) We still email, and I am grateful for that! She is always so kind to her fans!
